Using haot.app.
What this site is
haot.app is the public website for HAOT, a social-intent marketplace launching in 2026. Right now, the site lets you join the waitlist, read our manifesto, see our investor brief, and download our press kit.
What you agree to
By using this site, you agree to:
- Provide a real email address if you sign up for the waitlist
- Not attempt to break, scrape, overload, or abuse the site
- Not impersonate someone else when signing up
- Treat the press kit assets according to the usage rules listed on the press page
- Be at least 18 years old or have parental permission to use the site
What we agree to
We will:
- Handle your data per our privacy policy at /privacy
- Not sell or share your data with anyone outside the providers listed in the privacy policy
- Send you only the emails you signed up for, no more than one per week
- Honor any data request you send to privacy@haot.app within 30 days
- Give you 30 days notice by email before making material changes to these terms for anyone already on the waitlist
Brand assets
The logos, photography, and other assets in our press kit are licensed for editorial coverage of HAOT only. You may use them in articles, podcasts, and newsletters that reference HAOT, with reasonable clearspace and without modification. You may not use them to imply endorsement or affiliation. For any other use, email legal@haot.app.
Account responsibility
The waitlist signup is the only account-like interaction this site offers. You are responsible for the email address you submit. If someone signs up with your email without your authorization, email privacy@haot.app and we will remove the record.
Prohibited uses
You may not use this site to:
- Submit fake email addresses, fake names, or impersonate others
- Scrape, mirror, or republish the site’s content for commercial use without written permission
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to discover the source of any part of the site
- Run automated scripts, bots, or load-testing tools against the site
- Use the site to send unsolicited communications to anyone
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable law
If we believe you have violated this section, we may remove your waitlist record and block your access to the site. For repeated or serious violations, we may pursue any remedy available under applicable law.
Intellectual property
All content on haot.app, including text, photography, illustrations, code, the HAOT name, the HAOT wordmark, and the HAOT logomark, is owned by HAOT Inc. or licensed to us. Nothing on this site grants you any license except the editorial use of press kit assets described in section 4.
If you believe content on haot.app infringes your intellectual property rights, email legal@haot.app with details and we will respond within 10 business days.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
HAOT the company is HAOT Inc., a separate legal entity from any other business operated by the founder. The site is provided as is, with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HAOT Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes about the use of this site will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, this section does not override your right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence under those laws.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not change them retroactively for waitlist subscribers without telling you in an email.
Mobile app — Subscription terms
- Plus tier: $9.99/month or $99/year, with a 7-day free trial.
- Founding Plus: $9.99/month for life, limited to the first 100 users. No annual option.
- Host tier: $19.99/month or $199/year.
- Founding Host: 0% take rate for the first 90 days, then the standard Host take rate.
- Take rate on paid activities: 12% for Host members, 15% for non-Host users.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the price listed above unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancellation: managed through your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: handled per Apple’s standard refund policy. Contact Apple Support directly for refund requests.
Mobile app — User-generated content
- Hosts may post activity descriptions, cover photos, and venue information.
- Attendees may post ratings, reviews, and profile photos after their bond is completed.
- HAOT does not pre-moderate user-generated content but reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law.
- DMCA / copyright takedown: send notices to copyright@haot.app. We respond within 10 business days.
Mobile app — Community guidelines
- HAOT is built for in-person social plans with groups of four or more people. Solo or one-on-one activities are not supported.
- Anti-dating policy: HAOT is not a dating platform. Romantic or sexual solicitation is prohibited and will result in account termination.
- Anti-discrimination: hosting or attending activities based on protected characteristics (including race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability) is prohibited.
- Safety: report concerns via the in-app Silent SOS feature or by emailing safety@haot.app.
Mobile app — Role distinction
- Attendees: book activities, pay for paid activities, and rate hosts and other attendees after the activity.
- Hosts: create activities. Must be 18 or older. Hosts running paid activities must complete identity verification via Stripe Identity and receive payouts as direct deposits through Stripe Connect.
- Founding Hosts: 0% take rate for the first 90 days, then the standard 12% Host take rate.
Mobile app — Account termination
- By you: delete your account in-app via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- By HAOT: we may suspend or terminate accounts for terms violations, safety incidents, fraud, or repeated policy breaches.
- Appeals: email trust@haot.app. We review appeals within 14 days.
Mobile app — Dispute resolution
- Pre-arbitration: before initiating arbitration, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution for 30 days. Send disputes to legal@haot.app.
- Binding arbitration: unresolved disputes will be settled by binding arbitration in San Juan, Puerto Rico, except where your jurisdiction provides mandatory consumer protection law that permits you to bring a claim locally.
- Class action waiver: disputes must be brought individually, not as a class, collective, or representative action.
